FOLLOWING THE RUBBER TRAILS

Xin Cheng

Made out of a long-time fascination with rubber tyres and its many stories and re-uses this book features photos taken by Xin Cheng from Cambodia, Japan, Korea and Taiwan, and elastic dialogues with philosopher Heidi Salaverría about surfing, scales and dragons. In-between the cracks are poetic leaves from jari, Jozefina Frljić and Sarah Waring. Following the Rubber Trails is one of 5 booklets that form A Seedbag for Resourcefulness, a multi-part publication which grew out of over twelve years of walking around urban environments in the Asia-Pacific and Europe, noticing small modifications of shared spaces and the interplay between the many maker-user-carer-hackers.

You can order A Seedbag... directly from Materialverlag in Hamburg here.
