THE ARCHIVE IS ALIVE: THE GENDER WOO WOO

LAGANZ x Wellington ZineFest

The Archive is Alive, Volume 2: The Gender Woo Woo was created by a group of queer creatives over a single weekend. Upon encountering the Lesbian and Gay Archives New Zealand (LAGANZ) and learning more about Aotearoa New Zealand’s own complex queer history, participants made collages and artwork using photocopied materials taken from the LAGANZ collection, reflecting on the role queer history has played in contemporary queer identity. This second edition, The Archive is Alive: The Gender Woo Woo focuses exclusively on Aotearoa trans history with trans participants. The collages are compiled in this zine, and are supported by commentary by queer historian Will Hansen
